A procurement delegation from a Qatari oil and gas engineering company recently visited GNEE’s Tianjin headquarters and production base to evaluate a potential order of API 5CT L80 tubing and couplings. The visit followed a formal inquiry the client sent in mid-August.
In mid-August, Jennifer, GNEE’s account manager, aligned with the client by email on the tubing and coupling dimensions and inspection requirements. Given the project’s strict demands for material consistency and traceability, the buyer proposed an on-site visit, which GNEE welcomed.
During the visit, the two sides first held a one-hour meeting on GNEE’s capabilities and reliability, then toured the production base to verify delivery assurance across three fronts — production, supply, and quality — covering the quench-and-temper line, inventory and multi-site supply, and quality controls such as hydrostatic testing, NDT, hardness, and thread gauging.
L80 is an API 5CT grade engineered for sour (H₂S) service, with hardness held below 23 HRC and a mandatory quench-and-temper treatment. GNEE will prepare a formal proposal against the client’s specification and move toward sample confirmation and the first order.
