ANYANG, CHINA – Recently, GNEE Group was honored to welcome a professional procurement delegation from South Korea for a comprehensive site visit and technical discussion regarding API 5CT L80-1 casing and tubing for their upcoming energy projects.
During the visit, the Korean clients conducted a rigorous inspection of GNEE’s production lines. The focus remained on the Group 2 controlled-yield strength materials, specifically the L80-1 grade, which is highly sought after for sour service environments.
Key technical highlights discussed included:
Heat Treatment Process: Verification of the full-length Quenched and Tempered (Q+T) process to ensure superior mechanical properties.
Hardness Control: Discussion on strict hardness testing (Max 23 HRC) to meet NACE MR0175/ISO 15156 standards for H2S resistance.
Thread Integrity: Inspection of LTC (Long Round Thread) and BTC (Buttress Thread) connections, ensuring gas-tight sealing for deep-well applications.

The delegation visited GNEE’s state-of-the-art laboratory, where they witnessed real-time testing, including Hydrostatic tests, Ultrasonic inspections (UT), and Charpy V-Notch impact tests. GNEE’s ability to provide EN 10204 3.1 Mill Test Certificates (MTC) and support third-party inspections (SGS/BV) was a decisive factor for the Korean partners.
The Korean representative stated, “GNEE Group’s expertise in API 5CT standards and their commitment to stringent quality control for L80-1 pipes align perfectly with our project requirements in high-pressure sour environments.”
This visit has successfully resulted in a long-term supply agreement, further solidifying GNEE Group’s position as a premier global steel pipe supplier and a trusted partner in the East Asian energy sector.
